Housing associations in the United Kingdom are independent not-for-profit bodies that provide low cost housing for people in housing need. Any trading surplus is used to maintain existing homes and to help finance new ones. They are now the United Kingdom's major providers of new homes for rent, while many also run shared ownership schemes to help people who cannot afford to buy their own homes

L&Q is the second-largest housing association in the UK, managing over 60,000 homes across London and the South-East. We build high quality, affordable homes across a mix of tenures – including general needs rent, intermediate market rent, part buy, part rent (affordable home ownership) and outright sale. This includes building new homes as well as refurbishing old ones.

We have a development pipeline of 9,000 homes over the next four years and have set aside a large portion of these homes for first-time buyers and key workers.
